DIST 2440 - Yıldırım Bayezid Rotaract Club

Peace Messages from Akhisar College students ( by Yildirim Bayezid RAC);

PEACE AT HOME, PEACE IN THE WORLD
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said to people this principle on 20 th April 1931. It means that people will live in peace and people are peaceful in the country and in the world. So this principle is very important for us. It is stressed that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is a well informed, permissive, warm hearted and the most important leader. This important leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, always thinks that people should live in peace.
                                                                                                                     İlgi Nur ÇALIŞKAN

HELP
We should be helpful people. If adults help each other, children will learn it and no wars will happen.Nowadays especially teenagers like playing computer games such as Call of Duty,Battlefield…ect. These games contain a lot of fight and crime scenes. When children play these games too much , they may become violent and may harm their friends.I think that parents should forbid their children to play these games.
Today everybody in the world should live in peace and help each other.Don’t forget, the hand of friendship has no colour.
                                                                                                                               Emre FİDAN

WORLD PEACE
World peace is very important.People should live in peace because it makes us happy. We should help each other.Peace must be all over the world. If we become violent people ,wars will never end and people will always die.The more we live in peace and harmony, the more happy we’ll be.We should share our happiness, people will learn how they live in peace sooner or later.
                                                                                                                          Simay BAŞARAN

Ataturk says ’Peace at home , peace in the world’ Peace must be in Turkey and all over the world. If we don’t have peace in the world, the world will disappear. Everybody in the world should live in peace and harmony. Peace is a strong factor that combines countries. I hope we’ll live in peace with other countries forever.
                                                                                                                             Yağız Efe KIYAK

In our country, peace is very important. In First World War, our country suffered so much. Our economy was very bad. Children were unhappy. Our leader Atatürk said “Peace at home, peace in the world!”. His words are famous in the world. Thanks to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, we live in peace in our country. As Turkey we don’t support war also in our neighbours. We follow Atatürk’s words.
                                                                                                                                      Elif YAVAŞ

Between 1939-1945 lots of wars happened, millions of people died but now there aren’t any wars in Turkey. Our generation is lucky because they were born in a world where there’s no war. Everybody in the world should live in peace and harmony. If we wake up happily in the morning, we owe that to peace. We must be grateful for each day we live in peace. We think that people should learn to show respect to each other. We all should live happily and in peace. When there’s war people can have serious illnesses, economical and educational problems.Children may lose their parents and become orphans and live in bad conditions and they’ll be unhappy. When there’s peace, people can live freely, be happy, in peace, children can have good education. If we live in this way, we shouldn’t make war and live in peace.
                                                                                                                 Deniz ÜZ-Sinem HACILAR

EXPO 2020 IZMIR - THE FRONTIER CITY OF TURKEY

MANIFESTO FOR EXPO 2020 İZMİR

EXPO is one of the largest gatherings in the world and a platform where knowledge, ideas, projects and cultural content for the future well-being of humanity are shared. EXPOs and their various themes not only contribute to their host cities’ development but also to the world at large.

WE BELIEVE IN THE IDEAL OF “HEALTH FOR ALL!”

Health is one of the fundamental tenets listed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It forms the basis for the welfare of the nations and the individual. That is why İzmir adopted the “New Routes to a Better World/ Health for All” theme, in line with the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, for its EXPO 2020 bid.

İzmir is aware that at present:

  • In developing countries half of the population lives at least 8 km from basic health services.
  • Twenty percent of all infant mortality cases can be traced back to inadequate healthcare.
  • Contagious diseases can spread around the world in a matter of days, or in some cases even hours.
  • Chronic diseases are becoming a bigger threat with each passing day.
  • More than half of the world’s countries spend over 15 percent of their GDP on health related expenses.

“Health for All” ideal can be made possible through global cooperation and the sharing of knowledge.

İzmir believes that the “Health for All” ideal can be realized in a sustainable way by implementing relevant sub-themes for the individual and society alike:

  • “Healthy Living” is key to improving the living standards of individuals and providing them with happy lives.
  • A focus on “Public Health and Education” will improve the population’s overall life quality and prevent a variety of health problems.
  • “Innovation” will provide solutions for current and future health issues.
  • “Care and Collaboration” will allow the creation of permanent health systems.

WE BELIEVE IN THE TURKISH MODEL!

Turkey’s health reforms have achieved concrete results in recent years. For example:

  • Average life expectancy has increased by 3 years.
  • Infant mortality has dropped by 64 percent.
  • The whole population has been vaccinated.
  • Access to health services has broadened (to 97 percent from 60 percent).

These impressive achievements prove that the “Health for All” ideal is not only possible, but that the Turkish Model of Health Access is just, qualitative, productive and sustainable.

WE BELIEVE IN İZMİR AND ITS CITIZENS!

We are citizens of İzmir; a city whose physicians shaped medical history, that possesses millennia old treatment centers; nine universities, health institutions outfitted with state-of-the-art technologies, a developed industry, an ideal climate, natural resources, a quality work force, and a healthy life style…

We aim to host the EXPO 2020, to create a domestic and global platform that will showcase the latest health related developments, generate new opportunities for the whole of humanity and create health solutions for all.

WE AIM TO BRING THE WHOLE WORLD CLOSER TO THE “HEALTH FOR ALL” DREAM THROUGH THE OPPORTUNITIES CREATED BY EXPO 2020 İZMİR.

DIST 3230 - Rotaract Club of Siddhanth

'Peace is an inner sense or state of mind which makes us think different. A peaceful heart is one that is free from worries and troubles. It remains quiet and our vision is clear. Borders turn imaginary, differences disappear, peace spreads. The quieter we become, the more we hear. We lend our ears to worldly problems - there comes a care from within which leads to our worlds unity and peace.'
